Barely a day goes by without our designers crafting a highly curvaceous worktop or custom-made breakfast bar with decorative end panels. And we wouldn’t want it any other way. Just point your kitchen designer towards our handy four-step process.

Here’s how the service works:

Step 1: Ordering

First, get your designer to sketch the worktop, breakfast bar and island unit shapes you want. Don’t forget to specify your choice of décor and thickness and be sure to include the overall dimensions of each shape.

Step 2: Approval

After your designer has sent us their sketch we’ll create a technical working drawing for you to review and approve. Exciting times.

Step 3: Sign Off

Once we’ve received your written approval we’ll start the custom-made manufacturing process. Doubly exciting times.

Step 4: Delivery

After we’ve fully checked the finished custom-made surfaces, we’ll deliver them straight to your chosen location within three weeks of the sign-off stage.

From unusual shapes to contrasting surfaces, here are just a few ways our custom-made service can deliver outstanding stand out in your kitchen.

Custom-made surfaces are ideal for creating striking contrasts in the kitchen. In this example, a 100mm breakfast bar is used alongside a standard 40mm work surface.

This unusually shaped breakfast bar fits effortlessly into the living space while also making a unique design statement.

There’s no need to play things straight as curved ends can be achieved for added standout. The custom-made Grey British Oak ellipse design reduces the risk of a young child accidentally running into a sharp corner.

Please Note: Custom-made work surfaces and breakfast bars can be produced up to a maximum size of 4000mm x 1200mm, with a minimum 70mm internal radius and a minimum 30mm external radius for any curved shapes.

From the cold touch of granite and marble to the subtle sensation of wood grain, each of the five carefully selected textures brings more than just a sense of occasion to your kitchen.

Wood

This texture subtly and ingeniously replicates the natural grain of real wood.

Quartz†

A gloss surface with multicoloured metallic elements freely distributed within the décor to give a dazzling visual effect.

Matt

Used with some of our marble and stone décors, this delicate texture provides a natural look and feel.

Stone

Easy to clean and maintain, the non-reflective and subtle unevenness of this texture echoes freshly quarried natural stone.

Sync

Our most technologically advanced texture, Sync perfectly synchronises with the shapes and colours of the slate and wood décors on which it’s applied. The result? An amazingly realistic 3D effect that offers all the durability, cleanliness and low-cost benefits of laminate.

†Please Note: The high gloss finish Quartz is more susceptible to scuffs and scratches than other textures, so additional care needs to be taken when using and cleaning.

Every Spectra Square-Edge surface also comes with a simple set of guidelines to help you keep it looking super fresh with minimum fuss. What’s more, in the unlikely event your surface shows unexpected wear and tear you have our word we’ll make good by repair and/or replacement any surface shown to have failed due to an issue with design, materials or workmanship.

DESIGNED FOR THE FUTURE

Naturally, all the timber used in the production of Spectra Square-Edge worktops, breakfast bars, island units, upstands and splashbacks comes from well-managed and sustainable forests.

These are certified in accordance with the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council® and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification. What’s more, thanks to our impressively realistic wood grain and stone effects and textures it’s unnecessary to cut down exotic species of timber within precious forests, or disrupt the earth by mining for granite and marble.

SPECTRA TECHNICAL DATA

All Spectra Square-Edge surfaces are made in Britain

Spectra Square-Edge is manufactured using the BS/EN 4965 standard. This gives you the best heat, water, abrasion and impact resistance. The BS/EN438 laminate surface is bonded to EN312/2003 E1 high density particle board.

When it comes to checking quality, we’re unapologetically exacting. It’s why you’ll never see us cutting corners or taking the easy option. Instead you’ll find us carrying out test after test to ensure all our surfaces are of the highest standard.

* Whilst Spectra Square-Edge offers additional performance over other work surfaces, standard work surface precautions such as heat protectors and chopping boards should still be used.
